THANK YOU FROM OHASHI
This year, 2024, we are celebrating the Ohashi Institute’s 50th anniversary and my 80th birthday. When I look back I find there are two reasons I survived 50 years and 80 years.
First, I was crazy and a “
schmuck” — I wasn’t concerned about, or even aware of the difficulties and dangers of incorporating a nonprofit organization and keeping it going (especially in New York). Plus, I was happy and found a lot of satisfaction in my work — which is one reason I’ve survived to my 80th year, even though I started life with ill health.
Running a school and teaching to different people, even from different cultures, has brought me into contact with many wonderful people, like you, my students and friends, who have supported me with enthusiasm and encouraged me to continue. Your support has added to my happiness and my feeling of being blessed, and has given me the will to continue to share my modality.
We have been celebrating this 50th anniversary in various ways over this year, and on December 8 we had a party in NYC that brought many students, graduates, sponsors, clients, and friends together. It was so meaningful to me and to Bonnie, my life and business partner, and to Kazuhiro Ohashi, my son, to enjoy that evening with those who were able to attend. It was a lovely celebration. Our generous students and friends brought many messages and gifts, for which we are very grateful. I humbly say
THANK YOU, to everyone.
I look forward to continuing this journey in 2025 and beyond. And I hope to see many of you next year and the next. Let’s continue to learn together, to strengthen the bonds of friendship that fortify us and bring meaning to our lives.
Arigato, Thank you, Gassho,
Ohashi
